Doubts and Delights.

This week has been a very reflective week and at the start I was overcome with doubts, many things have been going through my head and the confidence I thought I had within this area seemed clouded, possibly because living in Paisley I don’t get much chance to get out and about with youth to keep my ‘foot in the door’.

God is faithful, He assures me time and time again.

God revealed Himself to me in many ways this week in particular through a song that a friend from college sung “For I know the plans I have for you, “ the more he sung it the more I could tell that it was heart felt it wasn’t a open the book and play this song it was a plea from me to him, sing to me whats on your heart, sing to me what you most like to say to God. I had never heard this song before, sure I’ve been given the verse Jeremiah 29 v 11 on many cards, in texts, in letters but to hear the power of the words and the conviction in which they were sung, well to say the least the assured me and it gave me comfort.

And being in nature someone who needs to be told over and over again I received a phone call, the conversation was important, but the real but the depth was remarkable, god spoke through that and assured me. God has called me here and no matter how hard it may get and how much work is needs done I’ll be doing it carrying out His plans for me.
The safest place I can be is where God has called me to. If I’m brought to it, He will get me through it.

Thank you to both the person who sung that song, and to the person who made that call, may you continue to be vessels for the Lord in doing His works.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD.

“I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”
Jer 29 v 11 MSG

  1. Be encouraged dear child. A journey with the LORD God is guaranteed to shake ones faith, and just like any kind of journey - it is never as simple as A to B. If your journey doesn't shake your faith then you have allowed your mind to take over rather than give the LORD the steering wheel of your life. Of course, it is easier said than done, which is why we need accountable prayer warriors in our life. This can be with close friends, family, the local church or even those you consider friends within SBC. Christians who care to see you mature and grow in the likeness of Christ will be more than happy to remember you in their prayers. In the meantime, continue to place your trust in the LORD and anticipate an exciting journey as you continue your studies at the Scottish Baptist College. Embrace the promise that the LORD will not abandon you, nor forsake you and explore this particular calling in your life, whatever that may be. In fact, be encouraged that the Holy Spirit will pray for you on your behalf.

    Romans 8:26 (NLT)

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
